All-Star Academy is a fitness bootcamp, but not just any ordinary bootcamp... it's the whole package. We offer fat burning workouts 6 days a week (mornings and evenings), nutritional support and advice, access to a secret group and members site where you will find all the tools necessary to succeed, competitions and merchandise and a warm and friendly family feel where you will meet motivational and supportive people just like yourselves who want to change.
My job as a lifestyle coach is to help men and women of all different age ranges, shapes and sizes and from all walks of life realise their goals and make permanent changes to their lives. Some people come to me to lose weight, others to tone up and increase their fitness and stamina and some just to do something productive with their lives. Whatever the reasons I am non-judgemental, I am there to help and guide them along their journey, help them get fantastic results and make sure we have fun along the way.
2016 has seen over 100 members come through the doors of all-star academy for a variety of different reasons and has seen many of my superstars realise their goals, smash their goals and achieve what they thought was the impossible.
Nothing is impossible! With a goal in mind, hard work and determination and the right attitude and mindset anything is possible and this year has certainly proved that.
Take a look at 2016 with all-star academy.
March kicked off our calendar of events, with myself and 11 others taking on the Major at Braham park, Leeds for the third year running. We took on the 5 and 10K assault course, climbing hills, swimming through ice lakes, crawling through tunnels and wading through mud, and lots of it. To have 11 takers in the middle of march was fantastic. They all smashed the event in decent times with no broken bones, certainly a day to be proud of!
I was hoping for more takers for my next event and clients that had never done one before, so I opted for a fun challenge that was new to us all. It was only a month after the Major Series but I knew by booking another event it would keep people on track. Gung-ho got an army of takers as it was a fun packed inflatable assault course in the grounds of Heaton Park. We had such a laugh, there were balls, slides, walls and hides, we ran, jumped and bounced our way round, finishing off on Europes biggest inflatable slide. This was wacky enough, but when the rain and hail came down it made it lots more fun as we were slipping and sliding all over the place. I'm pleased to say this event was made up of event virgins and they enjoyed it so much they vowed to book on more. Another event smashed!
June saw the return of total warrior, a 12.5K assault course back in Braham Park, Leeds. Unfortunately there weren't as many takers as last year, but the 3 that did it can call themselves warriors from now on. They threw themselves over walls, slid through mud, swam in ice baths, jumped through fire and avoided an electric shock in order to complete another tough event. They each crossed the finish line with a sense of fulfilment and now have another medal to add to their collection.
Another goal achieved!
Up next was Adrenaline Rush. This was my favourite event of 2016, full of obstacles, not much running and I even had a few new recruits from the camp taking part.
A couple of my long serving clients had completed these events year after year and wanted to take on a new challenge, so asked if we could book a new event. We trawled the net and found x-runners 'wild warrior' for October. Set in a picturesque valley on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park the area had undulating fields and wooded areas. However, this did not fool us as there were more than 70 obstacles to contend with including; the swamp of doom, muddy mayhem, free fall, walk the plank, water slides, tight ropes, tunnels, quick sand, giant walls, balance beams, fire jumps, cargo nets and the assault course, along with plenty of water and mud to wade through.
Although it was a nightmare getting there, the location was perfect for a 10k trail run of this type and although it was voted mens fitness obstacle race of the year, it didn't stop my 5 girls! Each and every one of them gave it their all and rose to the challenge despite how wet and muddy they were and the rain bouncing down. They each completed this challenge in under 2 hours with barely even a scratch, just sporting a big smile over that finish line. Fabulous result!
So after jumping through fire, swimming through ice ponds, getting covered in mud and attempting obstacles we never thought we could, I thought my clients would be happy to finish off the year with something a little more low key.
November saw myself and 5 superstars take part in the 10k Mo run at Heaton Park, and it was the perfect weather to run. As you know all-star academy isn't about running, so apart from running in their own time (which only a couple of them did) for the girls to complete this event in less than an hour was absolutely amazing! Each and everyone of them gave it their all, and its another event they can walk away from sporting the medal and feeling proud that they have smashed another goal to pieces.
Its always nice for our family to come together, get to know each other better and share each other's journeys, achievements and transformations. December 3rd saw all-star academy take over the john Gilbert in worsley for our annual awards night and over half my camp came together with friends and family to do just that. Alcohol was flowing, food was being indulged, the dancing shoes were on and the celebrations were well underway. That to me was a sign of a very good night!
Everybody looked fantastic and confident all glammed up with their new body shapes. Some were in clothes they had only ever dreamed of wearing and some even showing a bit of flesh. It was actually hard to recognise some away from their baggy tops and bob hats at training lol.
2016 has been another incredible year here at all-star academy, absolutely blowing 2015 out of the water (which I didn't think was possible) with hundreds more transformations, numerous events smashed and people realising their goals and creating their own success stories. My superstars have been motivated whatever the weather, dedicated whatever their commitments, used the tools and support I have given them effectively and understood and adhered to the rules in order to change. For these reasons, each one of my members well and truly deserved the awards they received and they should place them with pride as a reminder of how far they have come.
Cant wait to do it all again in 2017, Dom.
